Bruce Fredrick Joseph Springsteen

Bruce Fredrick Joseph Springsteen was born 23 September 1949 in Freehold, New Jersey. He grew up in a typical working family, and this has always characterized his work.
The family was not particularly musical, but he has even said that after he saw "The Beatles" on "The Ed Sullivan show", he was in no doubt what he would do. The family, especially her father, was not particularly enthusiastic about the music stuff, and Bruce has perhaps said it best himself from the stage: "In my house there were two things that were unpopular, one was me, the other was my guitar". Even portrays well oppveksten Springsteen's, in constant opposition, best on the intro to "The River" (from "Live 1975-85").

He started his career in "The Cast Illes", a band that played a single. The band was disbanded when Trommeslageren died in Vietnam. He continued in "Steel Mill", a band that was mighty popular on the East Coast, they played a kind of heavy Bluesrock, a kind of predecessor to "heavy-metal". It was at that time he began working with Steven Van Zandt, a person who was later to become important, both as a partner and friend. He also began now to be known as a very excessive guitarist; "The fastest guitar-player in Asbury Park."
After "Steel Mill" came two kortlivede band first timannsbandet "Dr. Zoom & the Sonic Boom" then something nedtrimmede "Bruce Springsteen Band". Both of these bands consisted of people who would make up "The E-street Band".
In 1971 he met Mike Appel, who was missing is his, and he obtained a Springsteen Audition at the legendary talent Scout John Hammond (known as the man who discovered Bob Dylan). It was he who seal Springsteen to Colombia. At this time lightweight record companies desperate for an artist, who would become the "New Dylan", and with their pretty powerful ordflomtekster fit enough Springsteen under this designation. This was also what almost would be death for him as a plate artist.
At the beginning of 1973 came debut "Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ", a disc that was very marked by the fact that they had found the "New Dylan". But even with the help of Colombia's massive advertising campaign and reasonably good criticism, as the flop disc and sold only 25,000 copies. A little fun is it that there is a lot of famous artists who have chosen songs from this disc to record covere of, including David Bowie, and Manfred Mann's Earth Band. The latter played the full three songs from this disc, where "Blinded By The Light" was a kjempehit for them.
Already nine months later in November, came oppfølgern "The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle". This gave a somewhat clearer idea of what would come later, but in no way lived up to the concerts, which now began to become his trademark. This disc sold not more than his predecessor, and it was at this time a rumor that Colombia would drop him, but in 1974 wrote the famous rock-kritikeren Jon Landau a review from a concert in Boston, where he arrived with the immortal statement: "I have seen the future of rock'n'roll, and its name is Bruce Springsteen." At this time took Mike Appel, Springsteen with them into the studio again to record a new song called "Born to Run". Nine months later they would release it as a single, but Colombia said it was too long and would not give it out. Mike Appel took the matter into their own hands and sent the loser to different radio stations started playing it, and it was a hit out of "the system". This gave Springsteen renewed confidence, and in 1975 came his third album, entitled "Born to Run".

During the recording of this, it would have encountered serious gnis are between Springsteen and Mike Appel, and when the tournament was over, as defendants Springsteen's manager, and hired at the same time in the new friend, Jon Landau, as manager and producer. "Born to Run" was a hit, and the tour that followed, Springsteen brought out of the shadow he had been until then. But it was roughly until 1978 before the next album "Darkness on The Edge Of Town" came out. And it was here where The E-street Band for the first time, came to his right in the studio. This was also the first disc, where Steven Van Zandt was involved, and on the next disc, the double "The River", which came in 1980, he was part of the team that would recreate the unique sound the band had when they played live, but that they then had not been able to replicate in the studio. It was with "The River" that Springsteen really got his international breakthrough, and in the wake of the disc that also included his first world tour, which are also led him to Norway and Drammen Hall in 1981. The disc also gave Springsteen his first singles success with "Hungry Heart" which reached sixth place on the U.S. hitliste.
When the tour was over, and it was time to follow up the success, Springsteen chose instead in 1982 to provide the "Nebraska", a collection entirely nedstrippede songs recorded on a four-lane recorder at home in your bedroom. This was a collection of songs that he had first tried to record with The E-street Band, but that he ultimately chose to give out that the demo it really was.
The next two years were spent in the studio with the same firm that produced "The River", Jon Landau, Chuck Plotkin and Steven Van Zandt. The result is one of the world's most famous and bought rock albums of all time "Born In The USA" which came in 1984. It was with this disc that Springsteen really was a superstar. Tour that came in the wake was one of the greatest of all time. Tour was a huge success, which, among other things, led him to Gothenburg, where the fans perform to break the foundation for Nya Ullevi under "Twist and shout." This disc showed Springsteen from his most accessible ever, and the title track is just the most misunderstood song of all time, with their allsang friendly chorus, but the grim verse lines.
That was before this tour that Steven Van Zandt left The E-street Band for their commitment to a solokarieere under the name "Little Steven". He was replaced by Nils Lofgren, such as previously had played with Neil Young.

Super success was followed up with the "Live 1975-85", which went directly to lead the United States, even though it contained five discs!
First, in 1987 there was a sequel to "Born In The USA". When the "Tunnel of Love" released, but for those who hoped for a successor in the same direction as "Born In The USA", was very disappointed. "Tunnel Of Love" was a reasonable hushed affair, with quiet songs about relationships between men and women, a subject he really had not written about before. The songs were the large part played in a home studio, where Springsteen played mostly even, and members of The E-street Band was brought in to play when needed. Later during the tour he came to Valle Hovin.
When the "Tunnel of Love Express" tour was over, and a six-week tour with a Sting and Peter Gabriel, "Human Rights Now", he dissolved The E-street Band and moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles, where he married Patti Scialfa, and founded families.
In 1992 came the albums "Human Touch" and "Lucky Town", the debut of the one on the second and third place on the lists. Tour that came in the wake showed that he was still relevant as a concert artist, and he again visited Norway and Valle Hovin.
In 1995 came gather disc "Greatest Hits", which contained four new songs recorded with The E-street Band. The disc sold very well, but that after their previous breakthrough with "The River" in 1980, as did also Springsteen "a Nebraska" this time also. Later that year came his most political album ever, the rather quiet, but certainly not boring "The Ghost Of Tom Joad". Much of the inspiration to the disc (including the title) comes from John Steinbeck Nobel Prize-winning book "The Grapes Of Wrath" ( "The Grapes of Wrath" in English), and deals with, among other things, Mexican immigrants in Southern California. After that disc came Spring Steen's first acoustic tour, where he focused more on texts by presenting nedstrippede versions of their famous songs, including an acoustic version of "Born In The USA", where the title really comes to his right.
Bruce Springsteen
In 1998, was four-cd box "Tracks" which presented nearly 60 uutgitte songs from the whole career. It should result in even Springsteen show the alternative way and not the one he took on their plates. Many fans agree that much of the material on "Tracks" surpasses much of what he has done that is released.

The fall of 1998 rumors began to go about that Springsteen had re-united The E-street Band, and the spring of 1999 was modest all the fans had been waiting for for ten years, they were on tour. Tour began in Spain in April, and went through Europe, before it ended in Oslo 27 June. After it was for the U.S. tour, where it started out with 15 nights on "Continental Airlines Arena" (about 40,000) in New Jersey, and ended with ten out nights in New York's "Madison Square Garden." Although one can say that this was a "cash-in" tour, as he has proved that he is still the ability to provoke even after 35 years in the industry. In May 2000 he managed to rally for the entire NYPD, with a song "41 Shots (American Skin)". A song that deals with an unarmed immigrant who was shot by police. So you can just call him a legend that may not seem so old anyway.

After the terrorist attack on the Twin Tower in New York, Bruce is certain to create a disc that acted on this subject; feelings, fears, faith and hope. The disc was "The Rising" As was the summer of 2002.

Again, to Bruce and The E Street Band "on tour again. This was one of the best-lucrative tour. Tour was divided into two parts of which the first part was played in arenas in 46 different cities in North America and Europe, where, among other things, visited the Globe Arena in Stockholm 24 October 2002.
After over two-month break, from December 2002 to February 2003, they went out on tour again. Now there were stadium concerts that were in focus, and this time they played 74 concerts, including Valle Hovin and two concerts at Nya Ullevi.
Because of the intense high demand for concerts in New Jersey "Giant Stadium", they had to constantly expand the number of concerts to meet demand. It ended with 10 out concerts ...

In 2003, "The Essential" released. This was a double CD with songs from throughout his career. It also followed with a triple CD with bonus tracks.

In 2005, "Devils and Dust" out. Three years after The Rising shows Bruce Springsteen is from a different page. After that, in part, pompøse album he gave out last, here he is back with a more nedstrippet and earth release.
The more intimate expression and a more even låtmateriale make "Devils & Dust" to the Spring Steens most successful release of ten years.

In the wake of the disc Springsteen went on a solo tour where he visited, among other things, Hovet in Stockholm (there was any cages trip this time).
And for a tour! Bruce showed her the gifted artist he is. He played several different instruments and showed what a great musician he is.
During the tour we were very many songs that we could only dream about getting to hear live. Through 71 concerts played Bruce Springsteen 140 different songs!

In autumn 2005, "Born to Run 30th Anniversary Edition" released. The most exciting with this box was the Live DVD from the legendary concert in Hammersmith, London (check the video for "Music videor). But the documentary from "Born to Run" recording is fantastic. Maybe this is the start of several DVD releases from legendary concerts?

In the year 2006 started rumors about a new disc with "The E Street Band" to svirre. But instead we got "We Shall Overcome-The Seeger Session", a disc of cover songs from the old traditional folk shows. This was a disc that sold extremely well in Norway and attracting a whole new group of Springsteen fans. This was so different from what Bruce had done previously.
During the tour that followed, visited the band (which consisted of 17 people) "Oslo Spektrum" twice. Both in May and October.
Although låtvalget at the beginning of mostly consisted of songs from the album were also old Springsteen Tunes. As the band became more and more samspilt, we received several Springsteen songs are mostly made in the same event as the rest of the songs. Many of the songs was almost as new favorites and that these should be mentioned: "Ramrod", "Blinded By The Light" and "Further on Up the Road".

1. October 2007 came the Special comeback album by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. The album was titled "Magic" and contains 11 songs (including 12 bonus track Terry Song).
Back was the typical "sound" as The E Street Band is known for. On the disc, one can draw many parallels to the 70 - and 80's.

In autumn 2007, Bruce and the band for a short world tour that will take them to Oslo, Norway 4 December. Never before has any tickets to a concert have been sold out so fast in the Oslo Spektrum.
The summer of 2008, the stadium concerts, which will tour in Europe. He was also in Oslo 7-8 July 2008.
