My Chemical Romance is an American band from Belleville, New Jersey. The music can be categorized in the genres rock / punk music and has been described as "Queen meets The Misfits." The band says they even have been influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, Morrissey / The Smiths, The Cure, Thursday, Smashing Pumpkins and Green Day. The lyrics of many elemeter from fantasy, horror and theater, which is attributed to the influence of skrekkfilm and cartoons from childhood. The name My Chemical Romance comes from the book Ecstasy: Three tales of chemical romance, of Irvine Welsh, a book bassist Michael had read. The band consists of brothers Arthur Gerard Way (lead singer and Lyrics Writer) and Michael James Way (bass), Anthony Frank Iero (rytmegitar and scream), Raymond Manuel Toro (sologitar and vocals) and Bob Bryar (drums). Bryars joined the band in 2004 after the Band's first drummer, and one of the established pure, Matt Pelissier, was fired. Everyone in the band comes from Belleville, New Jersey, except Bryars, who is from Chicago. Early career (2001-2002) The band was started by singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier not long after the terrorist attack 11 September 2001. Among the first songs was "Skyline and Turn Stiles," Gerard wrote that as a result of 11 September attacks. Later they brought their Ray Toro and Mikey Way in the band. Frank Iero was not until after almost all of the first album was recorded and plays guitar on only two songs including "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville." In 2002, the Band's first album I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love released by Eyeball Records in the United States. The band had existed for only three months when the album was recorded, and Frank Iero had joined the band only a few days before they went in the studio. After the disc was released, turn the kid around in America with other bands as The Used, Thrice and Voice In the Wire. [edit] His career takes speed (2003-2005) In 2003, the band wrote a contract with Reprise Records and began work on their second album. It was named Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and was released in 2004. In the course of a year it had sold to platinum. From the album was released three singles: "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)", "Helena" and "The Ghost of You". In 2005 the band again touring the United States, and included heating band for Green Day. Together with the band The Used did a cover version of Queen and David Bowie song "Under Pressure". [edit] New future plans (2006) In March 2006, got the band Life on the Murder Scene, consisting of a live-CD and two DVDs including band history, music videos and live recordings. On 23 in October the same year the band got its third studio album, The Black Parade, produced by Rob Cavallo who previously produced albums such as Green Day 'American Idiot and Dookie. My Chemical Romances first concert in Scandinavia, was in Sweden on 8 November 2006, at the arena, Stockholm. The band has played several concerts in Scandinavia in 2007. These concerts were among others to come up with vocalist, Gerard Way, his 30-årsbursdag in the Baltic Hall in Malmö. Other locations are Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Pier Pressure in Gothenburg and Hove in Norway.
