Fall Out Boy is an American pop punk band from Chicago, Illinois, USA. The music can be described as alternative emosjonel rock / pop punk. The band consists of Patrick Stump on guitar and lead singer, Pete Wentz on bass and back-up vocals, Joe Trohman on guitar, and Andy Hurley on drums. They took the name Fall Out Boy when they asked the audience during their second concert what they should call themselves, and one shouted Fallout Boy, Radio Active Monday's partner on the animated television series The Simpsons. They did not understand The Simpsons reference until later, and spelled it instead Fall Out Boy. 2002-2004: Beginning and development In 2002, got the EP-a Split EP with Project Rocket, on Uprising Records. The band's first album, Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, also on Uprising Records, was released in 2003. Later that year, they got their second full album, Take This to Your Grave, on fueled by Ramen. Take This to Your Grave sold to gold in the United States, and was the start of the commercial success. This led to the later in the year they moved to a major label, Island Records. In 2004 they released the acoustic EP-a My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue, who came with a DVD. The purpose of the launch was, among other things, to show that boys do not need electric guitars to create good music, and to close the mouth of all the critics who argue that today's punk / emo-band can not create music, but just meaningless noise. EP-one includes acoustic versions of Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner and Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy. [edit] 2005-2006: Commercial success with "From Under The Cork Tree" The band's existence was threatened in 2005 when bassist, låtskriver and frontfigur Band, Pete Wentz, took an overdose of the drug Atvian in what was a suicide. The song I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song), from the album From Under the Cork Tree, deals with just that. Because this song is as personal as it is, the band has stated that they will not play the song live again. In 2005 they gave out From Under The Cork Tree. The album sold over 70 000 copies the first week, debuted at number 9 on the Billboard list, and sold immediately to double platinum. The first single of the album, Sugar We're Goin 'Down, went to number one on MTV TRL, and the number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 The video, which is about a boy with reindeer horn, also won the MTV2 Award on the MTV Video Music Awards in 2005. Fall Out Boy was also nominated for "Best New Artist" Grammy in 2006. In the period around From Under The Cork Tree got the band the opportunity to show themselves for the entire United States when they in several episodes of American youth series One Tree Hill had played music, and in two episodes, the band will perform some songs live. Frontfigur Pete Wentz was also instrumental in an entire episode of the series third season, when he and a series of role figures, Peyton Sawyer played by Hilarie Burton, was iferd to be boyfriends. 2007: "Infinity on High" Recently announced the Band's fourth album. Infinity on High is the title of the album is in stores in Europe 5 February 2007 and in the United States 6 February 2007. Thursday songs from the album is already frequently played, among other things, on radio, MTV and the Band's MySpace page. This Is not a Scene, It's an Arms Race and Carpal Tunnel of Love is the name of these two songs. In connection with the launch of the new album, Fall Out Boy went on a brief European tour. Norway did not visit the band, but it was Stockholm Arena in Stockholm, Sweden 20 March 2007 and Vega in Copenhagen, Denmark 21 March 2007. In addition, it held several concerts in Germany and England, as well as performances in the Netherlands and France.
